About

Hello! I'm Aaron, more commonly known as ThatGPGuy. I am the lead English tutor and founder of ThatGPGuy tuition. I have been accepted into NTU on a full-ride teaching scholarship, where I will be specialising in English.

When I was first exposed to A Levels General Paper (GP), I was surprised by its sheer scale despite being a mere H1 subject. Unlike the usual subjects like Biology or Geography, GP does not have a “fixed” syllabus. The world is an open book, and everything under the sun can be used in GP. I guess that explains why I believe GP is the most engaging subject; simply because the world is constantly changing and studying for GP makes us a part of that change too.

With a national distinction rate of just 20-25% each year, GP is indisputably one of the hardest subjects to score for in A Levels. In my years of studying GP, I know how challenging it can be to find the right notes and weave them into the right scripts. “GP is not that hard; examples are everywhere, just whack can already.” Well yes but actually, no. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Back in RJC, school was never smooth sailing for me, unlike most tutors who graduated with stellar grades. In fact, I know what it's like to fail, horribly even, which is why I can empathise with those who struggle with GP. Ultimately, I graduated A Levels with an A in GP and managed to secure my dreams on my own. So sign up for a free trial today and let me help you secure your's :)

I joined at the start of Year 6 and I initially attended GP lessons from another tuition which didn’t really suit my style. Through joining Aaron’s GP class, I can definitely say that my GP has improved a lot! We do a lot of question analysis so this increases exposure and helps me to cut down on individual studying time because I no longer have to stress over coming up with new points. The examples given to us in class are really relevant too and we are taught how to apply them across many questions and topics so yeah I’ve benefited a lot from that! I’m a lot more confident in GP now despite it still being one of my weaker subjects, but I managed to go from getting a 3 in AQ to an 8 now 🙂 Would recommend it, especially since class size is small so it’s not intimidating. Overall, I’ve started to find GP less daunting and I realise it can actually be fun to study
